Hola Elder Nielsen,
We just got home from Weiser, Idaho. It is a 4 hour and 40 minute drive from our house to Kevin's and it is 300 miles. It was a very nice trip. We left on Friday around 3:45 pm and drove to Boise and stopped in Eagle to see Suzie Martin, mom's roommate from college. It was great to see them. They fed us dinner and we visited until about midnight. It was a good visit. Then we drove up to Kevin's home on Saturday and got there about noon. We went and helped them set up the old train depot, built in 1906, where they had their reception. We went back to his house, ate lunch and got ready for the reception.
Weiser is a small farm and ranching community of about 6000. But the people were down to earth and very nice. Kevin has a wonderful family. Amber is marrying into a great family and she chose very well. Kevin's dad is in the stake presidency and his brothers' and sister's families were very nice.
We stayed there and went to church with his family and ate a ham dinner afterwards and then drove back to Elko. It was snowing and blowing going up on Friday and coming back tonight. We went up through Owyhee and you have to watch out for black cows all over the roads. You can't see them at night and it is very dangerous. I also saw a rooster pheasant driving to church today, just past Kevin's drive way. That made me happy. I have not seen a wild pheasant for about 20 years. We might have to do some hunting up there when you get back.
Last weekend, Elko played Dayton and they 10 run ruled them all three games. Yocum threw a 1 hitter, struck out 15 of the 21 batters he faced in the 1st game. Benton hit 2 homeruns and so did Whitted. Kyle Whitted got named Max Preps player of the week for the west. He pitched the 2nd game and threw a 2 hitter. Over the 3 games he went 11 for 12, with 2 homeruns and 2 doubles. A batting average of 917 and on base % of like 933 or something. So that will get him recognized. I was talking to Guilligan and he said the Tanner Harris got caught drinking again a couple weekends ago, so he is off the team for good.
The final 4 in NCAA is North Carolina a 1 seed, Villanova a 2 seed, Oklahoma a 2 seed and Syracuse a 10 seed. I was not able to watch any of the games this weekend.
I wanted to hurry and write you this letter before you wrote yours. So we hope you have a great week. We love you and are so thankful for the wonderful family and kids we have been blessed with. Keep working hard. Today was easter but we did not celebrate it, only in church. It is because of the Lord and we do and live the way we do. The atonement and resurrection is a wonderful gift. Keep working hard.

My Dearest Elder Nielsen,
We are in Weiser, Idaho right now for Amber and Kevin's open house. Kevin's parents are really nice and have let us stay in their basement while we are here. We left Elko on Friday after school got out to head up here to Idaho. We went through Boise and had dinner with Suzy, my old room mate and ended up staying the night at her house. Remember Suzy? We stayed with her 5 years ago when we went to Brandon and Ally's sealing in Boise. Her family lives in a different house now, not too far from the old one, but its newer and in a nice neighborhood and we stayed in an extra bedroom since her older kids are out of the house now. It was a lot of fun. We act kind of like silly college girls when we are together, it's as if no time has passed at all. The next day we got up and left to continue on to Weiser, Kevin's hometown. When we arrived Kevin's parents and his brother that returned from his mission about 2 mos. ago were already setting up for the open house, so we headed over there to see if they needed any help. The place where they held the open house was at an old train depot. It isn't used anymore as a station, but its cute and old and they rent it out for things like this. It was pretty neat. The rail road tracks still run outside of it and so 3 times during the open house there were some actual trains that went rumbling past and that was cool. Kevin's parents and family is very very nice. He has 5 brothers, 4 of which are married, and a sister who is the oldest and she has 8 kids--7 really cute girls and one boy, he's right in the middle too! We met his sister and the brother older than Kevin. SUPER FAMILY!!! Amber chose a great guy and family to be apart of. After the open house the ladies all went to the Womens' General Broadcast at the church and then we came back to the house and had more cake and ice cream. Adelaide got to go on a Easter Egg hunt, so she was happy. She loved wearing a pretty pink dress that she got-- she called it her "wedding" dress. She was her usual crazy self. During the open house she came up to me and whispered in my ear, " I got 32 of those candy balls to fit in my mouth" , They served pink and blue colored Sixlet candies and apparently Addie liked eating them... all at the same time.
We went to church with the Bergquists today and had an Easter Dinner and now we will be heading home here soon. I think you would like the Berquists and the people of Weiser. The guys wear a lot of plaid flannel and ball caps. Bennet, Kevin's brother blew up some old cans of gasoline for entertainment last night. You would of thought we were just watching a fireworks show outside. They are not much hunters, but like outdoor recreation stuff--4-wheelers and snowmobiles and stuff.
Next week is our spring break, so we will just hang around and enjoy the down time. Hope you have a great week, yo mama loves you,

Just last week Dad was changing the oil in the Suburban and Ads was out there playing around by him and she said out of the blue,"I was born to be wild" Dad kind of questioned her like, "??? what, wild like a wild Indian?" and she said, "No, wild like Tarzan" .
