Hola Elder Nielsen,
Another week in the books. When I think back on what happened this past week, I can't think of much. Tuesday was Sept 15, and I had 5 partnerships and s-corps to finish up, so I was scrambling around trying to get them done and barely made it to the post office 5 minutes before closing. Monday night I had my class and did not get home until 10:00 pm.
Elko played Fernley at Fernley this week and lost in the last couple minutes of the game. Fernley scored and went a head and beat Elko. Fernley is 3-0 this year. BYU played UCLA last night, UCLA was ranked 10th in the nation. BYU led the entire game and UCLA scored with 3 minutes to go in the game and went a head by 1 point. BYU got down to UCLA's 45 yard line with 1 minute left and I thought, ok, here we go again and BYU ended up throwing an interception. But we had the ball inside their 20 3 different times but we never did score any points. If we had kicked 1 field goal, we would have won. But we lost 28 to 27. But it was still a good showing playing in L.A. Alabama was ranked 2nd in nation and they got beat by Old Miss.
We had standards night tonight and they were doing a trek kick off for summer of 2016. They showed some pictures of the last trek and everyone kept commenting about how little and young you looked. You grew up a lot since then. It brought back many memories and a good spirit that we experienced on the trek. Summer will be going so it should be very fun.
DeeRay shot that bull elk on the face of Mt. Timpanogas. It was one they had pictures of alive and was 1 of their top 5 bulls. So he was really excited. Devin Nielsen has been scouting out all the elk in that area for 4 years. He had most of them named. His G-2 is 23 inches long.
Summer had a track meet yesterday, but her leg is bothering her and she did not run the mile. She also had to give a talk in church today, so she was glad that is over.
That is about all I can think of for now. We love you and are happy you are doing well. We pray for you all the time. Keep working hard and being exactly obedient as the posters on your wall says. Through your obedience and the Holy Ghost, you can be taught all truths and all languages. So that will help you with your teaching and mastering the language. Have a super week. We are happy you had a few investigators make it out to church.

Dearest Elder Nielsen,
How goes it? I can't believe how fast this past week has gone by. It's exactly like what Elder Wilson said in a letter of his... the days are long, but the weeks go by fast. Adelaide had a dentist appt. this past week with Dr. Smith (his son was in our preschool group last year) She has one cavity, that she will have to go back and get filled. She was really good though and wasn't afraid at all. She needs to floss though!
I talked to Benton's little sister and she said that Benton will be out for 2-4 weeks with his knee injury. He doesn't need surgery, and that is likely attributed to the fact that he was sliding when he was tackled: if he had had his leg planted it would have likely been season ending. Elko played Fernley this last weekend and was ahead the whole game game and Fernley came on at the end and won by a few points in the last minute of the game.
Adelaide and Hartman had a playdate on Friday-- she went to his house and then his mom took them both to kindergarten. Next week it is our turn to have the playdate at our house in the morning before they go to school. We are going to keep doing that. Sadie says Hartman gets so bored otherwise . Dad said that sounded like "steady play-dating" to him. ;)
Dad and I went out to dinner with the Simons on Fri. night, we went to Mattie's (we got to choose and we had a coupon)
It was really fun. Mandy's parents were there visiting. Her Dad and Mason were going to do some fishing at South Fork. Their baby boy is 5 months old now and he is a chub and really cute.
Summer had another track meet, but she didn't run the mile because her leg is still kind of sore. She ran the 100 and the relays but it wasn't a stellar performance, she will do better when her leg feels better.
Tonight we went with Summer to Youth Standards Night--it was the Trek kick-off. They showed the slideshow from the last trek and there were so pics of you and you were just a young wippersnapper. Lots of people commented on how young you looked in it. It was fun to see all of you guys--most of whom are on missions or have served already. They are still in need of Ma's and Pa's, so we told the Bishop if they need us, we are available. I didn't expect we would go again, just so that more couples can have that opportunity, but it doesn't sound like they are running to sign up. We love it and would go again in an instant.
BYU lost to UCLA in the last 3 min. we were leading most of the game, but then our defense got a little soft and they came back and scored to win. the score was 23-24-- ouch! Dad did taxes and watched football most of the day Sat. and there was a game with Notre Dame and Georgia Tech and and the Notre Dame safety made some great play and went up to do one of those twisting chest-bump things with his team mate to celebrate and he came down and landed on one leg and his knee buckled and he went down. It ended up that he hurt it pretty bad and he is out for the rest of the year. oops
Well that is about the go of it. We love your letters and pictures. I thought it was typical that you send 5 pictures and 3 of them are animals. Hope you have a great week kiddo!
